Complete Map of Tamriel - October 2019 (Patreon)

BIG update! Link to full size image.
While there was relatively little change to the landscape of this one (additions of rivers and coastal islands from ESO Dragonhold, as well as accompanying coastal edits), this is a major overhaul to the map in general.
The biggest change here is the addition of height data, about half of which is directly based on extracted files from Morrowind, Oblivion, and Skyrim, and the other half painstakingly hand painted and collaged together from real-world heightmaps. In the image below, the green sections represent areas pulled directly from ingame data (Skyrim and Cyrodiil). The orange sections are border regions, based largely on the heightmaps from the games, but also blended out into the new terrain. The purple (Vvardenfell and Solstheim) are combined from the data in Morrowind and Skyrim, and, in Vvardenfell's case, accentuated with hand painted elements to account for the rather rudimentary height data in TES3.
The gray sections were done entirely by hand, using a combination of lore knowledge, ESO depictions (loosely, accounting for the need to wall of regions with artificial mountains), as well as real-world geographic knowledge (for example, rivers always flowing downhill).
Once the height data was added, the labeling scheme I had chosen became unreadable in many locations, forcing me to redesign nearly all the labels. I pulled from Google maps for the general inspiration and introduced outlines and color to the labels, and switched out the font for the settlements. The national borders switched from a gradient around the whole nation to a solid line along just the border (the way I had been drawing the gradients was not compatible with the way I pulled in the height data), and there were several under-the-hood setup changes to facilitate the everything being readable.
[edit] Small update for 11/2 - fixed overlapping typography (thanks u/codytb1) and removed Dragonhold island, which I'm told isn't actually a thing anymore (thanks u/MarvelousMagikarp)
