Commission Pricing Update - 2022 (Patreon)

I wanted to come forward today with an update about commission prices, and the corresponding reasoning behind their changes. 

As some of you may be aware, the time I've had to take on commissions this year has been severely limited - I've found myself taking part in more work outside my regular repertoire, and as a result I've had to make adjustments to manage a proper work/life balance. This isn't necessarily a bad thing - I'm so excited for you all to see the weird projects I've been helping out with behind the scenes, and it has felt so refreshing to break out of my role more. But as a result, my time for commission-based projects is not quite what it used to be. 

In contrast to how my time has decreased, the demand for commissions has also been extremely high as my channel has been growing. I honestly feel bad and guilty about not being able to take on every request I get, but as my software and the complexity of my music has grown, the amount of work I would have to do to help everyone would be astronomical.

As a result, after talking to many friends and colleagues, I've decided it's time to bring my commission prices more in line with other professional working artists. The following changes are subject to decrease as time goes on:

-Sequenced A: $200 (+2$ per second beyond first minute)

-Sequenced B: $300 (+3$ per second beyond first minute)

-Streamed: $500 (+4$ per second beyond first minute)

I am also discontinuing the "Descriptor Fee" that was present for previous commission cycles. 

I thank you all for understanding this change - it can be extremely intimidating for artists/musicians to change up their pricing systems, so I hope we can work together to find a sweet spot. 

Also - in the near future I'd like to provide more ways to give folks a chance to get free commissions. Patreon doesn't allow raffles, but I'd love to hear your thoughts if you had something else in mind.
