【Tanji blog】Wacky cover requests gone wrong? (Patreon)

Hello! Sorry I wasn't posting anything recently. I've been working on the wacky cover requests since last week for almost everyday.

I'm actually gonna do this post in a vlog way and/or share a WIP post, but this pic below shows that I don't have much time or effort to do recording and video-editing. So, I appreciate your time for reading this blog.

About the progress:

I got so excited to read the requests from the comment section because most of them are really good, but I didn't realized I picked for almost.. 30 of them.

But since it's a challenge, I just took it anyways and give it a shot.

I started working on it since Dec. 8 for almost everyday. It was fun during the first week, I'm satisfied how it turned out. But since I'm reaching the peak of the deadline, I dropped most of the requests because I also almost reached my limit---getting started to feel kinda mentally exhausted and lose interest.

It almost took so long, that I just decided that this would be the Christmas special video content. But, since yesterday, I successfully finished 18 of them.. but only the entire draft or concept.

Because tomorrow, I'll be working on mixing the entire 18 of them, PLUS, video-editing right after.. Trying my best to finish them before Christmas day, including early access if I can. (If not, it's okay I have my Plan Bs and Cs about when to post).

I also made some parody lyrics, arrange a vocal choir, record with my guitar, etc.

What I have learned

Whew, so this cover project is both a mix of feeling great and regret. But, I still did my best and somehow enjoyed it. It's a challenge anyways. I have learned that I have to pick 3-8 of them instead of going ham with the amounts of request that I felt like I can do it. I did it, but it's way too many unless, I divide them into Part 1 and Part 2. It's good to push yourself out from the comfort zone sometimes, but don't overdo it.

Final thoughts and announcements

I hope this would be worth it in the end. I think that would be my final video for this year since December ends sooo fast. I wanted to do Christmas and New year cover video, including a tier-list content video of myself rating my own covers I did for this year, but I need to keep my myself healthy and sadly, I have ran out of time.

I'm planning to give myself a one-month break starting on January 2022, because I've been working atleast one cover since I started my career on Patreon on April 2020. I felt like needed a break so I can go back to UTAU feeling super fresh and filled with tons of strong innovative creativity.

But I'm just hoping most of you won't delete your pledges on that moment. I'm honestly scared that most of you would leave, so that's one of the reasons why I'm doing atleast one cover per month. But, I always respect what would be your decisions and reasons.

And lastly, I'll do a New Year banner instead with the people who were actively supporting me till this day! I'll be writing your names(including baguette bakers and Twin-drill students) and months/year of giving me support on that banner! Also giving shout-outs with my own recorded voice to the high-tier pledges!
