I'm not dead from the move, but there are still mountains of boxes to sort through and all sorts of new problems to fix. Still, I've finished writing this week's chapter, as well as the next. I'll be working on more In Pursuit of Magic, as well as possibly beginning to integrate The Z Gamer into my update schedule a little more frequently.

The monthly polls will resume as normal starting tomorrow, but I'm honestly considering doing away with them altogether, since I'm going to be updating In Pursuit Of Magic on a weekly basis no matter what (and it never seems to lose the vote anymore). Thoughts on this would be appreciated.

Sounds good to me. I mainly read In Pursuit of Magic so keeping it at weekly updates is good for me.

Yay, just what we need - another voice in the main character's head. More seriously, my understanding of canon was that possession had to be willing. For example, it took damn near a full year for a book to possess a little girl for any length of time. While we can all agree than canon Harry Potter is almost complete garbage, a handful of pieces of lore stand out. Despite myself, I enjoyed the combat. It's never fun for the audience to see the main character get slapped around from beginning to end, but it made sense in this case. For all his advantages, the MC is still a child with no actual fighting experience. Maybe this will give him the kick in the ass he needs to, say, start actively pursuing studies in asymmetrical warfare. Damn near every single form of combat in Harry Potter is "block the colored light" with the occasional "dodge the colored light" to break up the monotony. I'm interested to see how you help the MC grow into a more competent murder-hobo. I imagine the conclusion of the fight was also the death knell of Ghost Hoochie getting a stone-manufactured homunculus to possess. Hopefully that instead means her new ability to interact with the physical world will grow from it's current infancy.
