About Drawversity

The Drawversity photo-set series some from our second artist-led photo shoot, this time conceived and directed by Jade Hylton. Jade invited models who wouldn't normally pose for life and portrait drawing as part of her Drawversity initiative, our programme for encouraging more diversity in the life modelling community. Our live Drawversity drawing sessions create a supportive environment where people of colour who might want to model for artists are invited to pose for a class clothed, semi-clothed or unclothed for any length of time that they feel comfortable; they are then offered further opportunities to model if they've enjoyed the experience. The Drawversity photo shoot became an extension of those live classes, providing 5 people who responded to Jade's open call for models to experience posing for photos to inspire your work. As always the photos were shot by Olly Hearsey at The Brighton Studio.
