Hello you lovely lot,

We have hit an exciting new milestone, reaching £7000 support from our community today! When we started this Patreon a year ago we never could have imagined that you would all be so supportive and as a thank you to all of your for your ongoing support we're adding the following perks to the Patreon:

For Supporter & Portrait Tiers: A bonus Figure photoset next month and a bonus 'Hands' photoset in May.

For Life Drawing, Student & Patron of the Arts Tiers: A new weekly photoset of close ups to accompany Lance's anatomy tutorials (for those of your following the courses from the start, there's no need to worry - these photos will remain on the Patreon for the long-term!). The first set will be released today.

What your extra support has funded

The basic running cost of this Patreon is £6000 per month (see below). As the government stopped subsidising rent payments for our storage space in February, the extra over £6000 we have made since Feb has gone into our storeroom rent. Some of the reminder will now be put aside for funding our next model photoshoot - watch this space for more details!

How we spend the money raised here

All of the money raised here on the Patreon helps to support our models and tutors by paying everybody to produce the resources that you use each month.

  • 25% to life models. This is split equally between the 30 life models featured in the photo-sets we release.
  • £1200-1500 to life models who pose for our live online classes.
  • £1000 per month paid to the artists who work for Draw like Megan, Bella & Shelley, running our social media, Atelier Alumni support and mail room.
  • £1200-1500 to the artist-tutors like Lance, Tim and Laura who teach our online courses and write our blogs.
  • £250 to the artists who we interview for ETC and Instagram live (some of these artists waive their fees, in which case their fees go into our hardship fund).
  • £250 paid for online platform fees like Mailchimp, Hootsuite and Zoom.
  • 12% in processing & platform fees - We pay 8% to Patreon for providing this wonderful service, and another 2-5% to card companies and PayPal, just like all of your usual card purchases.
  • Above our running costs and photo-shoot budget, any remaining money goes into our community fund from which we make payments to art groups and models suffering financial hardship.
  • Sales tax - Patreon is registered for sales tax in each country that we have supporters (that is VAT in the UK), you pay that tax on top of the pledge that goes to us.
  • NB. Draw Brighton is a social enterprise which re-invests its income back into the community it serves. I work two days a week at Draw as a volunteer and do not take any money from Draw's income.

Thank you all for being so wonderful and being part of our community - stay safe and keep drawing.
