Hi everybody,

As we're receiving such consistent support here on the Patreon we're really pleased to be able to start adding more events to our programme, in response to your requests in our summer survey.

Following the recent outcry caused by a Government re-training advert and the ensuing Fatima meme it has never been more important to shout about the value of the arts and the legitimacy of arts careers. As such, we're beginning a new series of ETC talks called 'ART/WORK', interviewing prominent figures in art and design about their route into the arts and the shape of their careers - in our little virtual art school you can think of these as your visiting artist lectures!

We begin this week, when I'll be interviewing Professor Anita Taylor about her multifaceted career as artist, educator and founding director of the Trinity Buoy Warf Drawing Prize (previously the Jerwood Drawing Prize) & Drawing Projects UK. The talk will take place live on Zoom this Friday (27th Nov) at 7pm. It is free, open to anybody and it has been funded by your generous support - please do share the event link, particularly with any art students and young artists you know who might need some extra motivation right now!

Best wishes,

The ACE funded video attached shows Anita Taylor's drawing practice, and particularly relates to this weeks subtractive drawing blog and Wednesday tutorial.

Drawn: Anita Taylor - in the Artists Studio

Artist, educator and curator - and founder of the Trinity Buoy Wharf Drawing Prize Project - Anita Taylor has drawing at the heart of everything she does. We go inside the artist's studio to see her at work and to find out what inspires her. This film shows her preparing for a major exhibition at The Customs House Gallery in South Shields, curated by Esen Kaya. Film by Robin Fearon of WeLoveMedia.
