We see Death Troopers in The Mandalorian S1. I thought that they would have been a priority for Sloan to take into the unknown regions. But my real question is can a death trooper remove their helmet?

Really obscure Squadrons question, but this is something that’s been bothering me for a while. During mission six, when Vanguard destroys the Imperial listening post at Esseles, a big deal is made of this message that Lindon Javes sends to get the Empire’s attention. But is it ever revealed what that message actually was? Maybe I’m missing something obvious, but I don’t recall it ever coming up again? Thank you!

It's been over a year since I played the story mode, so I don't recall. It might have simply been a revelation that he was alive and a call for Titan Squadron to come get their revenge.

Yes, Death Troopers can remove their helmets, Yrica Quell sees one without their helmet in Alphabet Squadron. I assume Sloane prioritized commanders rather than troopers. Gideon didn't head off into the Unknown Regions, he stayed behind, and he had some Death Troopers with him.
