I re-read #1 and #2 last night knowing #3 was coming out today - very glad I did. Beyond refreshing my memory, reading several one after the other has a very movie-like feel.

Yeah hopefully at least one or two of them survive. Like Alex said I could see Sabe and Typho surviving since they were named movie characters that they may want to do a bit more with. But Tonra was just a background character in the movies and didn't get any development at all until Queen's Shadow came out so he may be the one to kill off.
