Patreon Changed Their Minds, You Will Not Be Charged Differently (Patreon)

Thank goodness! Patreon has decided to keep their system the way it always has been. You guys will not be charged any differently. No extra percentage. A dollar is a dollar, and not $1.37.

I am overwhelmed by the amount of people that said they would offer their support no matter what. That's amazing, but I'm so glad Patreon didn't roll this out.

I just wanted to keep you all in the know. A little extra good news before The Last Jedi! Remember, I'll be making a Q&A post tomorrow so get your questions ready after you see The Last Jedi, and also I would stay away from that thread until you've seen the movie!

I could cover the charge and had not problem, despite feeling like they are scamming (I think I can prove that). The reason I got all up in arms is b/c the lower $ Patreons were going to naturally fall off fast and that really hurts the creators. As "Patreon paying followers" is akin to a like count on Facebook or follower count on Twitter, this edit was going to negatively impact creators ability to build the base making a key stat fall.

I'm really glad they decided not to change things. I was faced with having to NOT support some of the artists that I currently do. I try to always support people at the $5 level so that would be an extra $0.50 per person. I'm on a limited budget due to health reasons and have to watch every penny. I only donate to 6 channels so to keep the ones I support at $5 a month I would have had to drop 2 people. Definitely NOT this channel though.
