I never really found a place to fit in the overall narrative to talk about how Mr and Mrs Delaire met, but this is some supplemental information that I've had in my head for a while now.

For those wondering, Shermer, Illinois is not a real place. It's a fictional suburb from the John Hughes movies that's usually an analog for Wilmette, Skokie, or Highland Park. Angela comes from an upper middle class background with a father who runs a successful refrigeration business. Ted is from Chesterfield, Newburgh, and his dad was an anesthesiologist, so he came from a more affluent family, and was used to having hired help around the house.

Typo in panel three; "watche"

I have the impression that Dominic shows a silent appreciation for the strong personality of Angela, coupling her with a weaker character for making her stand out more. Looks like a commonplace in the narration of the author: the secret admiration for the virtue of a female character, hero by nature standing out in a imperfect world.

Keep in mind that this is all from Emmy’s perspective who idolizes her family. Angela and Ted are nice, well-meaning people, but far from perfect.

Seems Angela's always been quite the beauty! Can hardly blame Ted for falling for her so quickly.

Oh, I thought they were French for some reason.

Love the fact that you're using Emmy's perspective. The rose-tinted glasses sure do a number on everyone when talking about the people we idolize/love.
