Heya! Here’s some character art for the story!

I quite like the style, and I'm thinking of commissioning the artist for the entire cast—if they're willing!

It's to help you all visualize the characters and also to help me with future commissions.

In the pictures, you can see minion Vega, Nat, Sophie, and Tess.

It would be fun if his next "equipment" type mana skill looked like V1's "wings" from Ultrakill. Nath's stubbornness does remind me of a machine. And I do share a name with Ultrakill's main antagonist, so I'll be able to threaten to spread the core of Nath' being across the stars when I read a chapter.

I wish i could draw as good and its nice to get some art...but… I feel like I need to be the party pooper here – at least a little bit. I don’t understand the purpose or at least I find the art insufficient in the current state to help much in the “visualize the characters“ department. For a comic strip its awesome but having the book covers as a comparison I find this art falling a bit short. Perhaps its the shading/coloring which is much simpler but its sooo “flat” . So it doesn’t help me much to better imagine the characters as its still so rough / unlively. The “future commissions” part is something I cant comment on too much but shouldn’t a reference picture have a lot of detail so others can use it as a “reference” and not just as a basic framework? So in short: For a manga/comic strip its really really nice – as you don’t often have it colored and with much detail but for the intended use its lacking (imho).

there is no need to take it so seriously. What you see is the artists style and a simple art/sketch that didnt take that much time. it will be helpful if i will want to commission something more expensive in the future - i can point at this pic and tell that this is how i imagine the character and then let the other artist to draw it in their style. but the main reason is that i like the style and i wanted such art :D - its simple, colors are nice and the artist is very good with expressions (especially at making the character have that cool and cold expression - its fun)

Thank you for the answer! Ah then i might have misunderstood your post / intention - lost in translation (in my head ;) ) and so on. If its a base to build on its totally fine and it leaves enough leeway to the imagination for the readers. The most important part is that YOU like it and the artist nails the "cool and cold expression" part indeed. PS.: Soph induces such Rachel (of Tower of Gods) vibes.

I feel like this won't make much sense to people who don't know but Nat has the looks of the standard heavenly demon type character, also Sophie Bad as hell. Where is our corgi Overlord T_T

I just love seeing different artists have their own take on the characters, its cool as heck! I know plenty of ppl have their own image of the characters, but i think its also cool to see them somewhat close to the way i have imagined them while writing. PS.: Pls no, Rachel needs to fall down the stairs or something

i think nat flying with kinetic energy only and without any wings or "effects" is much more eerie and rule of cool applies

I said "wings" because it's what they look like. The main effect they would have would be some sort of mana potency imitation. A little bit like antennas that would further emplify his mana's "signal".

Vega's portrait is by far my favourite. Love the style for both her and young master Nat but there's just something about the red eyes staring right at you that give off a sinister pressure...

I definitely imagined Sophie more as a haggard social worker instead of a chick with an upper ear piercing but I like the art! Nat just looks like haughty Aragorn without facial hair.

I picture Nat just hovering right above the ground instead of walking like a normal person, like how Omni Man would float through his house. And then he tells everyone how he’s the most normal of group 4 (Sorry Nat but currently most normal belongs to Maya imo)
