Afterword - Star Pets Deep Space Adventure (Patreon)

So, I don't do these afterwords often enough. But I really wanted to write one for this new side series.

What a fun little chapter. I had TONS of fun writing this. I woke up in the morning and worked on it ALL day from like 9 am to 11 pm. I didn't feel like working on G&B, so it was a nice side project to take my mind off things.

So, where to start with that one? First, I wanted to write a sci-fi side story of Animal Café for a long time. You probably heard me talking about this idea late last year or something, and more recently, I wanted to slow down the main AC series a bit before I hit a wall. I also wanted to write something more sci-fi/adventurish because that's what I like to create the most. I find that this recipe is the best solution to satisfy both myself and my patrons who wanted more of AC.

I needed to find a way to integrate a space story within the AC world, which wasn't easy. But when I wrote Sweet Pets 9 a little while ago, the lightbulb immediately turned on in my head. SPDSA would be a board game, and Trixie, the most playful and perverted pet of all, was the best candidate to be the game master.

The board game is just a pretense. You probably noticed that the gaming aspect was almost absent from the first chapter, and it was almost exclusively storytelling. It will remain that way. That said, it would be nice to occasionally see the protagonists making horrible decisions because the real petgirls rolled bad dice during an event. I don't plan on using that card too often, but I certainly will for entertainment purposes.

I have regrets about General Alkasha. After I published the chapter, I thought it would have been better if I had given that role to one of the pets. And since Alkasha sounds similar to Asha, I think Asha would have been an excellent candidate to play the bad girl role. But it is what it is, and I think Alkasha is still a very cool character that I will love to develop. Unashamed sexy space dominatrix with the classic eyepatch, I loved her presence, and she will come back soon since she has a deep desire to enslave the petgirls now. (and take back her beloved ship)

But to me, the biggest surprise of all was Ivy and Amy, the two sex slaves. I'm not going to bullshit you. I'm not that smart, so that idea of Alkasha owning two pretty sex slaves came directly from the anime Gargantia on the Verdurous Planet. (which is an all time favorite of mine) In the anime, the pirate Queen had two sex slaves, but they were much more than that. Even if they had almost no presence, they assisted the Queen's nefarious plans. When I wrote Ivy and Amy characters, I fell in love with them. I only opened a few doors, and I already want to dedicate a full chapter about them. They were best friends, they were not into girls, and Alkasha mentioned that she destroyed their world. So why are they so enamored with her and want to be punished more for her pleasure? I have TONS of ideas for them. To me, those two characters were more interesting than everything else in this chapter. :)

Aaaand Clara. Clara is unique in Animal Café, and I wanted to make her unique in SPDSA. In fact, I wanted all the characters to retain their original personalities so the readers wouldn't get too confused. But Clara is obviously a special case. She is not a pet, so I thought I would do something special with her. I'm pretty proud of that idea to turn her into an OP AI from the past who has the same shy and awkward personality as the original Clara. And making Oreo date her was funny too.

I think with this first chapter, I opened so many doors that I can take this series wherever I want next. It has so much potential to be a very deviant platform because it's all based on Trixie's twisted imagination. Don't be surprised if they go exploring a planet and some alien plant traps a pet inside a slimy pouch. There will definitely be some of that. And with Alkasha, the space dominatrix, and her two willing sex slaves, this series will get stimulating real quick.

Anyway, Enough for now. I hope you enjoyed that chapter as much as I did and that you'll want to read the next one. I don't have a date for it yet. We will see how things go in August.
