Sue Burke is the author of the science fiction novel Semiosis and its sequel Interference. Her novel Immunity Index will be released by Tor later this year. She’s also a translator, working from Spanish into English, and she lived in Spain from 2000 to 2016. While she was there, she first heard about Queen Urraca I, and the more she learned, the more she came to believe that the story of her ability and courage has never fairly been told. She decided to fix that.
