If you guys like watching Christian type movies you guys should check out I Can Only Imagine (2018). It tells the story of Bart Millard from MercyMe who lives with his abusive father in Texas.

This was one of my fav childhood movies growing up. My mother put it on for me to enjoy and learn a little bit about Moses and how he freed the Hebrews. I’m happy you girls reacted to this movie. I hope in the future Ellie, Michelle, Magy, Laura, and Blue watch it too

That was a good one. Christian movies seem to excel whenever they tell stories based on a true story. They suffer a bit when they tell fictional ones.

Fantastic movie. One of the best. And they got the Biblical story pretty accurately. Fun fact: when they are singing "When You Believe", when the children start singing in Hebrew, it is an actual song that Miriam sang in the Bible. It is a song of praise and thanks to God for setting them free from slavery.

Although not biblically accurate, it's still a beautiful movie. For example, Pharaoh's daughter actually found Moses's real mother and got her to nurse Moses for her until he no longer needed to be breast-fed. Then Moses was adopted into the royal family. Zipporrah did not go back to Egypt with Moses. She stayed home and they had one child if I remember correctly. Although Moses was a brilliant speaker, Aaron was supposed to be with Moses and did most of the talking with Ramses as Moses doubted his own ability while talking with God at the non-burning bush. When Moses came down from the mountain with the tablets, the Hebrews were found drunk/partying and worshiping a golden calf which angered Moses greatly. The story in the bible is so much better.

You can't force them to react to movies you want them to react to. You sound like a petulant toddler. I agree with Captain Phillips. Not with Flight 93 as good as it was because Ellie will stress out even though it's a tale of heroism. Same with Bloody Sunday. If they are going to cry I would prefer happy tears. Endings on a happy triumphant note. Every movie has stress which is okay. Tension and suspense. I like comedies because most here I assume love to watch them laugh. They like love stories, romantic comedies. They love dogs which is why I suggested Marley & Me.

actually Tzipporrah did come with him to Egypt. Remember it says how on the way to Egypt, God was angry with Moses because he hadn't circumcized his son, so she did it, and said to Moses, "Surely you are a bridegroom of blood to me." Even though I'm a Christian, that was one of those moments in the Bible where I was like "um...wut?" God does a few things in the Old Testament that really weirds me out.

Yes, Zipporah circumcised her son because God was going to kill Moses because he failed to circumcise their son. After that, they must have parted ways because you don't hear of Zipporah and the Son again. It's most likely that Moses did not want them to come with him due to the dangers that lies in Egypt. So, Zipporah never actually went back to Egypt. She probably went back to her father with her son.
