Rumpus Parable

Small bit of trivia - Mike Patton is the voices of the creatures because the film makers didn’t want to use the standard monster collections of sounds and wanted to make their sounds still be sounds made my humans. If not familiar with Patton he's a very prolific, diverse, vocalist who mostly sings but also, like here, occasionally does voice acting. and also rewrites film soundtracks. He's judged objectively as the best vocalist in at least two hundred years by professional classical and commercial experts due to the versatility and use of his voice…. And part of it is him going into a studio and screeching his head off for this film hahahaha. The movie is very different from the book (I read it after I’d seen the movie a couple times and was curious from what I’d heard: the title makes more sense with the plot of the book. In the book he is legend - amongst the creatures as a terrorizing serial murderer. Is part of why this has two different endings. The main theatrical release and the alternative where he suddenly realizes the creatures are sentient and what he’d been doing to them and releases the abducted woman back to her partner.
