I'm sure Michelle has already been informed, but the actor who played The Joker in The Dark Night, Heath Ledger, passed away soon after the film was finished shooting. He was only 28. His performance is considered the best portrayal of any Joker in a Batman film and he was awarded the Oscar for Best Supporting Actor posthumously.
