I had hoped after The Green Mile you'd get a fun movie to react to, clearly that didn't happen. However, this is not only a well made and well acted movie, but an important one as well.

An incredible movie, done very well. I read that the real Helen Hirsch met Ralph Fiennes (Amon Goeth) on set while he was in uniform and started shaking in absolute fear. It's terribly sad. Also the guy placing the roses on the grave and standing by the grave at the end is Steven Spielberg. It's such a good movie with a powerful message.

This is an absolutely fantastic movie, which is very hard to watch but everyone should see it as a reminder. Really appreciate that you reacted to this movie.

It's a heavy movie for sure. A brutal reminder of the horrors of that time. There are a few movies which are essential for all people to watch, and this is one of them...for all the wrong reasons. I'm sure some semblance of evil like this still exists in the world today, but the world isn't split into good people and bad people. There is both good and bad in everybody, but the part you choose to act on shows others who you really are. Thank you for reacting to it Ellie.

For a first time viewer of this film, especially a citizen of a European country, I knew this would be a particularly difficult one for you. I was surprised to see you did so. When you said you had no idea what the movie was about and began crying a little at the beginning, I wondered to myself how you were going make it through the entire movie.

Regarding the cast of this film, Oskar Schindler was portrayed by Liam Neeson, who was also Qui-Gon Jinn in Star Wars Episode 1. The Kommandant Amon Goeth was portrayed by Ralph Fiennes, who was Voldemort in the Harry Potter films. Itzhak Stern was portrayed by Ben Kingsley, who appeared to be The Mandarin in Iron Man 3. Ellie should watch the movie Matilda (1996) very soon. Embeth Davitz, who portrayed Helen Hirsch in Schindler's List, is in it as a character called Miss Honey. It's quite a lovely movie.

Ellie. Bulgaria did cooperate some with the Nazis and deporting Jews but for the most part they tried to save their Jews. Bulgaria did send about 11,000 Jews for deportation from Bulgarian owned territories. But they refused to honor the extradition order for all the 48,000 Bulgarian Jews in Bulgaria. They did confiscate their property and relocate them to regions in Bulgaria but the fact remains that 48,000 Bulgarian Jews were not sent to die and survived the war
