A bit of trivia: Albert Blithe didn't actually die in 1948, the show got it wrong. He survived, fought in the Battle of the Bulge and in the Korean War and had a son. He actually died on December 17, 1967 because of a perforated ulcer, and was buried in Arlington National Cemetery with full honors.

Smith stabbed Talbot twice with his bayonet. He thought Talbot was a German in the dark. Fortunately, the wounds weren’t too bad and Talbot recovered. Later, Gordon, who has three Purple Hearts, gives one to Talbot because they didn’t give you a Purple Heart if you were wounded by one of your own comrades.
