Someone asked, so I thought I’d share the entirety of our very advanced podcast setup when we have a guest.

  • MacBook Pro
  • Reaper for recording/editing
  • Skype for bringing in Ivan
  • Loopback from Rogue Amoeba to create virtual audio devices for Skype (so Ivan can hear both guests) and Reaper (so I can record the Skype track directly in Reaper for syncing/backup purposes)
  • Audience iD14 audio interface
  • Shure Beta 87A mics
  • Art headphone amp so we can both hear Ivan & each other
  • Sony Headphones. 7506 & V6 with aftermarket ear pads
  • Monoprice XLR cables

Is there any chance of having the Third Chair return for the last (TV) episode? Or even for one of the three to five weeks of round-ups I am sure you will have after the last TV episode? If she is uncomfortable with it, Alan Moore doesn't have to visit. Alternatively, could Alan Moore visit in place of the Third Chair? Oh, and please say "King Chairs" more often!
