Thanks to Bannerman @Other_Girl, Ivan & Red have delved DEEP into 2003's Love Actually, and they keep it brief at a full nineteen minutes shorter than the film's 135 minute run time.

This episode reminded me how long ago 2003 was... and all the callbacks to now outdated stuff... wow. I was also 17 when this movie came out and I’m not sure nostalgia is the word for it, more like a renewed sense of thankfulness that those days are behind us. I did used to love this movie tho so now I feel like giving it a Christmas rewatch. Oh and I’m basically from Milwaukee (very close by) and that scene is just the most surreal thing to watch because of how cartoonish it is and that those girls are way too hot to be hanging out in that bar. I do recall being really into the song Smooth at the time though so they got that part about us right at least.

I was really looking forward to this episode and did enjoy it. However! I did not appreciate all the Harry Potter shit talking. I hope you can feel the burning glare i am giving you both through the computer. OK love you, bye.

I (Red) enjoyed the Harry Potter books and movies! I just feel their categorization as Christmas movies was strange and wanted to comment on them.

This was so amazing. It made all my pledges explode with joy. I'm having a crap day and I'm going to go find an extended cut to watch while I drink myself to sleep. I'm wondering as a Steven Soderbergh fan what Red thinks of 'The Girlfriend Experience.' As a sex worker I love it, because it is creepily accurate.

Minor quibble: Billy Mack isn't Christmasizing 'his' own song, but a remake of the Trogg's 'Love is all around'. Not as egregious an error as the other week when Ivan claimed the pipe was "hundreds of thousands of years old", but still.
