I decided to open pet portraits for ten bucks on twitter for 24 hours. Was a fun experiment bc I finally added a, " You get what I give you" clause.

So much of my art career has been spent being afraid to set boundaries with people, and they invariably take advantage. My inner rage from allowing myself to be walked on for paltry amounts of money tends to come out at the wrong times. So now I'm telling people that when they hire me, they're hiring ME to draw the thing they want me to draw.

Of course people can PAY to demand more things of me,  but sometimes I don't even feel like offering that much. Fixing a finished piece requires dismantling everything around the part that needs to be fixed, and blending a tumorous new image into it. Its tedious and feels bad because its not what i wanted.

When you hire an artist, you're paying them to do what they want because you should know that that's when they shine.
