Weekly Progress #7 (Patreon)

So I finished two animation projects this week. One was content that I will be scheduling in Dec, while the other should be up by today. I believed I talked about the project last week, but I finally finished the “Sonic Friendzone's Amy” video. The only thing I really needed to do with the video is to light the scenes and add graffiti text to one scene, which should be in the pictures down below.

Since the only Overwatch animation is “It Came From Tumblr 6” video is set for the first week of October and I'm currently working on another original Overwatch animation, I decided to animate occasional Overwatch comic dubs on the channel. That way, it'll appease any Overwatch fans who have subscribed to the channel, and possibly net new ones since Overwatch animations are pretty hot now. I asked my friend, Deadjosey to see if it's possible for me to animate her own comic dub and, of course, she gave me her blessing. I won't go into much detail about this project since the process of me animating it is on the channel as a VOD, and $5+ patrons already saw the video. But, I will leave you some screen shots from the video.


This Week's Ongoing Projects

I would say about 80% of my effort this week went into trying to finish the animated segments of the Bad Rats review. From the look of the script, and the length of the animated scenes, it might become another 10-minute video. I will say that this video will also lay the groundwork for the first December's review, Fairy Fencer F: Dark Advent. I only have three scenes left to animate before I render them and edit the video. I also have to get Bad Rats gameplay footage...which...I'm not looking forward to. The game was one of the worst games I've ever played and it'll be pretty evident how much I hate it in my review. For now, here are some screen shots for the review.

Once again, I messed up and couldn't animate more than 1 scene for that roast video. HOWEVER! I finally got Rinachan to voice two roasts for the video. In fact, one of the scenes I animated is a line she voiced. Here's one screen shot from the part.

The final project I worked on this week was the next story based Overwatch animation, “Torbjorn Is Racist Towards Ominics.” I started working on this since I'm still waiting on a few lines for my #MORE_GAMEINDUSTRI_DRAMA video. I anticipate that this project might be a pain since Torbjorn's facial flexing isn't really the best. However, lip syncing him shouldn't be a problem since I created facial flexing presets for him. I only animated three scenes for the video  thus far, but here are a few screenshots.

This Week's New Ideas

As for new ideas, I came up with another Hyperdimension Neptunia parody after my last Re;birth 3 stream. Basically, I want to poke fun at Plutia's spacey and dazed behavior by having Purple Heart accuse her of being a pothead. Not only did I finished the script. but I got Tamara Frtiz to voice Purple Heart and Nepgear, and she really does a good job impersonating them (especially Purple Heart). I'm still waiting for Nikoruchan18 to finish her Plutia and Compa lines and I also need to find one more male voice actor for the video.

I also realized that since I'm almost done with December videos, I need to come up with a “Weeaboo Christmas 2016” video. Ideally, I want to make it themed around “anime that will never come out,” but it's still in the planning stages right now.

Lately, I've been thinking about adding more Patron rewards, especially for the $5 tiers since I think more content can be added for this tier. I'm still doing research about it, but I would love to hear suggestions from you guys on possible rewards. Also, Patreon has special features now for Discord, so I'm not only thinking about setting one up, but also possibly integrate it for livestreams (more specifically games like Jackbox). I'm kinda hesitant about it and will give it some more thought on whether or not I should allow Discord chat during streams. Either way, expect more reward upgrades in the future.
