Behind the scenes: Recreating the lake! (Patreon)
Content
I'm hard at work on several things this week:
- The Yuna set editing
- Finishing my Aerith costume
- Working on the Dryad's lingerie for next week's photoshoot!
And of course, keeping you updated with great news and pretty pictures! This month I did a lot of "invisible" upgrade to my place to be able to shoot my next photoshoots and did a lot of tests too, which was a lot of work for a result I can't really show - Sometimes I also work 'til I pass out and don't post as a result. I'm always working very hard on my content tho, don't worry!
Earlier this month I was able to shoot a set I really wanted to do, for maybe year: Recreating the atmosphere of the scene at the Lake Macalania in FFX with a Yuna cosplay. The costume is entirely handmade by me, and the photoshoot's setting aswell, the only help I received for this set is from my sister, who took the pics for me since my hands were in the water! I'm currently editing the pictures and will post the result in the next days :)
For this photoshoot, I started with a swimming pool for kids. It's just big enough for me to fit in! I bought a piece of matte fabric in a dark blue color to put at the bottom of the pool, and then filled half of it with water: Enough to make a nice effect on the pictures, but not too much so I can still pose easily by having my back touching the bottom of the pool.
I added some waterproof DEL lights, they can change colors so I picked a turquoise kind of blue, just like the crystals in the lake. After that, I put some ivy and big leaves I ordered online in the pool : They add a nice complementary green color, and most of all they fill the space :)
Such a setting makes posing both easier and harder than usual : You don't have so many options, so there's no need to think about poses for hours, but it's hard to put some diversity because of that. We played a lot with the costume to make the set artistic and interesting: Thanks to the sleeves and top, it easily has a lovely flowy effect, nice movements, and the shades of pink from the sleeves in the water have a wonderful watercolor effect. As a result this set is less "roleplay" and more "artistic" than some others I've done!
As for the yellow lights from the game, I may add them on some pictures with Photoshop! Overall, I think this kind of setting is doing well with such a costume. The pictures look fantastic and I'm very excited to show you!
From a modeling point of vue, by the way, it was exhausting to model in water for a full set! I'm not used to swimming, and most of all September weather is, well... Not as warm as the previous months! I was very very cold at the end and really had to summon my modeling skills to look graceful and joyful... The reality is I was chattering from the cold water and wind outside XD
But it was worth and I'd do it again without hesitating... In the middle of the summer! (She said, thinking about how she'll dive into snow for the sake of art if we get some this winter...)
I hope you enjoyed this little behind-the-scene post ♥ See you this weekend for the first public picture from the set!! And I really truly thank everyone here for making it happen. My sister is incredibly happy with the pictures too, and she'll happily help me with future sets now! ♥
