Progress and Poll - 12/11/2023 (Patreon)

I've started on Over the Moon Chapter 2. The reception for the first release has been exceptional. The most common complaint is that it was a little short, and it certainly was. Now that the foundation is laid, we'll see a lot more content in each release. I've plotted out Chapter 2 and written the first scene.

There's a lot for me to say in this progress report. Bear with me here. 

I've been working virtually non-stop for the last four years. This month I'm not going to push myself too hard regarding work. It's going to be a sort of vacation month for me. I'm still going to work, but not as hard and heavy as I have been. I'll ramp back up into working my normal hours, and starting in January I'll be back to my normal routine. Progress reports this month might look wimpy. 

My primary focus moving forward is going to be The Judas Ghost. Once again, I am scared working on games like OtM now. The walls are closing in. I don't know how much longer Patreon is going to be tolerant of works like APAT, AMoB, and OtM. I am moving into more acceptable spaces with The Judas Ghost for my own safety and security. 

Riam Mar (my current coder) and I are in talks regarding a total overhaul of how The Judas Ghost feels and plays. We're redoing the mechanics, overhauling the UI, and generally adding more to it. I have no idea how long this is going to take, but I'll keep you all appraised of my progress. Riam needs some time to get comfortable with the build, and then rework it. Then we'll make progress on implementing changes. 

I already have a lot of renders complete for the next update of The Judas Ghost. Working on the build might not take as long as I'm afraid it will. I've been working on this game for around 18 months now. It's falling into place, but it has to rival the biggest dogs in the industry. It has to! So we're going to get this right one way or another. The story is awesome, the characters are great, the plot has some twists and turns coming. All we need is to make it fun and engaging to actually play. We'll get there.

I have had nothing but praise for Jenny the Pizza Delivery Girl. I have a feeling I already know what the results are going to be from the poll, but I still said I was going to take the poll. I'm going to try to have Over the Moon Chapter 2 done around early second quarter of 2024. I'm flirting with the idea of staggering my progress reports so there is an OtM progress report every other Monday, and one TJG progress report every other Thursday. Let me know how you feel about this.
