Dear Fans,

I'm not going to drop a Progress Tome this time because I simply don't know how long I'm going to make this bonus act. Instead of telling you how far I have to go, I'm going to tell you how much I've done so far.

I have around 270 still renders and 1 animation with 1250 lines of code complete. A typical release is around 4,000 lines of code but I expect this Bonus Episode to be closer to 8,000 - 10,000. It may take a little longer to finish than I'd hoped. I've also been taking extra time on the writing. You'll notice the dialogue is a bit more advanced in the Bonus Act.

I did put in the order for all the parts I need to build an entirely new computer with a 3090 GPU. I'll use my old PC to render animations full time and the new PC to work on and render stills. This means that I have invested back into my art everything and more that I've received in patronage. I tell you this because I want you all to know just how devoted I am to this work. I want to give you guys the best visual novel experience I can. I should be able to do Penny's game in 1440p with lots of animations and even better-looking renders. Full steam ahead.

I'm going to do a Live Render this Thursday at 7:00 PM CDT (GMT-5) on my Discord server. It's going to be Leah as a Christmas Gift. I know the whole 'Girl as a Christmas Gift' thing has been done to death but for good reason. That reason is that there is no better Christmas Gift. So come enjoy Leah being gift wrapped. Or unwrapped. We'll see. ;-)

Avalon is close to completion and I had a moment of reflection today. This year could have gone in a very different direction if I had decided to stick with my original project, 'The Time Collector'.

The Time Collector would have been an entirely unique game with characters that would have diverged wildly in personality and looks from the characters in Avalon. I can't help but wonder what would have come of it. I'm curious if you guys would have had the same opinion of it as you do of Avalon or perhaps an even higher opinion of it!

That's all I have for you today. As always, thank you all so much for your support and your kindness. Have a wonderful week and stop by on Thursday for the live render if you have time.

Farewell for now.

Well I am glad that Avalon was made. Some of its subject matter was different and more serious than some other games, but that is a good thing. I enjoy the humor, Avalon is cute, and the characters try to deal respectfully with each other. (Unless you are Penny's enemy of course.)

I'm a sci-fi nut myself so Time Collector could have been awesome too.

I'll join the Sci-Fi crowd - it is hard to find a VN that does this well, perhaps because most of the science fiction I like has a grand scope and has to set up the 'universe' in a way for all the action to make sense. Given what you've shown us with Avalon, Time Collector could be one of those even if I'm uncertain about the scale (grand sci-fi or more personal).

There would have been Galactic Corporations but the main story would have focused on the characters and space exploration. Maybe I'll circle back to it one day.

I think - whatever the setting, be it science fiction, fantasy or real world, past or present - the key is to include human stories that we can relate to. Avalon is certainly a VN with those stories and I'm sure the next VN will continue that trend!
