That black guy

Very solid take on her demonic possession effecting her libido, it'd be interesting to see this story continue

For one of the few times during the run of the Tracyverse, we are delving into characters I have no familiarity with. Well... not exactly. Without getting too far into self wank, the Flash Thompson I remember best was definitely part of the supporting cast (like Harry and Liz and May and Anna, Betty, Jean DeWolff, Dt. Tork, Dr. Kafka, Ed Whelan, Robbie, Jonah and John, etc), but he was just the former tormentor that became Pete's friend. The thing I will remember him best for was him offering his apartment for Peter and MJ to live in after they got kicked out of their posh apt. owned by Jonathan Ceaser. Just an all around decent guy. He popped back up again around JMS's run, just around when Peter had been outed by Civil War One, now suddenly a bit of a jackass again, PAD played with him, but nothing special. I only heard of him taking up the Venom symbiote by rumor, and never saw what they did with his story (aside from a recent shot of him saving an alien owl woman with big tits). So I can't analyze it as much from that end, and more or less have to look at Mania primary on its own merits. This is one of the few times I actually have to read the back story to understand the premise. And man, is it dark. I dunno how I feel about them playing the Mephisto card, but... Nevermind. I'm here to review the smut, not the story it's based on. The art style is an interesting cross between cartoony and gritty, what with the heavy pencils. I like it more than I have some other art that was going for a similar vein. Maybe it's just the image of Andi with a flushed face even as she's got the symbiote crawling over her naked body. Cute and creepy at the same time. So yeah, not my favorite artist, but it absolutely meshes with the story. And boy, is it a fucked up story. Even more fucked up than a much of the previous dark and/or rapey stuff TS has done before. More fucked up than Carnage and Shriek and Doppleganger. I kinda like it. Yeah, swerve, huh? Or maybe it's not so shocking, given how I cleaved to the earlier call back to Maximum Carnage. Is it faptastic? Kinda! Certain moments with Andi sell it, even with the whole thing going on where she is literally trying to force herself on Flash and Flash... is actually trying to be a standup guy. How weird is that? I like Flash more because he is not trying to take advantage of Andi, even if they do fuck in the end. But what about the body horror, I imagine some non-existant person say. Well... okay. You have a point there. Mania has done some strange new things with the symbiote that has never been tried before (and icky expectable things with all those teeth). I won't lie, there is some squick. But I guess I gloss over it and accept it more because given the story, its presence is not fucking surprising at all. The story is a cohesive whole, which TS is good at doing. I accept it at face value, and based on that, it's a well crafted piece of smut. I like Andi. I like Flash, and I like them together. I call this a success.

Demons, aliens, horny students and their teachers. How could it not work good? =D A follow up seems to be really necessary.

The nature of the symbiote evokes a xeno imagery that is rarely explored in my stories. So I wanted to go full Giger'y with this one and show some of the darker, naughtier, nastier things slimy aliens could do. Not my specialty, I admit, but it was a fun exercise. To counter-balance, I mixed it all with a theme I'm a bit more used to: teacher/student taboo. I think it's a bit ironic that Flash got to be bullied by a student after all those years. Felt like a full-circle kinda thing. Fun-fact: Even though this story isn't as rapey as I might seem in some of its early parts, it bothered Bayushi enough for him to ask me to work in another story. I completely understand that personal tastes are very personal and agreed that he would be much more comfortable and happy to work with a more solar story, which turned out to be the Miles/Kamala one. But he did do a cover art for Mania anyways, which I attached as an alternate in the end of the issue.
