Normally I'm first on the board with reviews but Laz got in a whole day before me, and he kinda echoed my feelings but not thoughts. Laz wanted May to be with various other characters and I could only kinda feel much the same. Granted the sex, characterization, and wit are better here than in issue 1 but it's baffling to see this. My main thought is that Hulk Rekt control appeared to be referenced but was then stricken from the canon (there is even a canon page yeah). Even weirder is that the ending recanonized the pairing in a new context. May with Ned is just out there, while drawn with great wit there just lacks a connection. Every Pete sex scene with her already had the milf/teen angle. Ned romanced Betty, they had their first kiss on a plane, they toured romantic European cities, basically an avalanche of material. Half a dozen May stories but no MJ, Liz, or Betty is utterly strange. At this point have them all come to comfort Pete post-FFH just to get them all in ink as soon as possible. On the plus side Ned and May are perfectly captured. The bodies in motion are elegant. The livestream angle gives a performative aspect that added a lot to the story and intrigue. The slideshow panels were a brilliant modernist twist that the hip May would be very into and Ned was a superb costar. His nebbish personality and benevolent attitude were real successes.
