There's lots of scales out there. Heck, depending on your definitions, there might even be infinite scales, but a lot of them don't really... work, at least not the way scales are supposed to. So is there some way to measure that, some way to figure out whether a scale is a good scale just by looking at it? Nope! Music's never that simple! But there's some things that kinda give you a decent approximation of that if you know how to use them correctly, and one good tool is a thing called Rothenberg Propriety, which is what this video is about!
