What would a piano made of fire sound like? Could you use underwater ripples to create music? What about instruments with no physical form at all? These were the sorts of questions the inventor Steve Mann set out to answer, and the results were some of the most unusual instruments I've ever seen. Mann called his inventions physiphones, because they let the player physically experience the creation of sound, and it led to a new way of classifying instruments, Elemental Organology, that helps explain some incredibly unfamiliar sounds.

I did! It's definitely a cool song, the melody feels very classically SOAD. It's on my list of songs to analyze but I'm not really sure when I'll get around to it, there's some others ahead of it that are either more popular or have more compelling harmony, but we'll see!
