You would have figured out by now that each Espada represents a kind of death. Ulq represents Emptiness. He has always believed that the so-called heart does not exist, and this is what he has always maintained, that everything and all beings in the world do not have a heart, are empty and meaningless. So when he discovered that the heart really existed, his own existence had no meaning. So he loses and disappears.
