I really love this arc and Vol 8! It perfectly executes what Slime is all about. The world building, character development and interaction take center stage! The dungeon building specifically is good for those of us who love all the fun characters like Ramiris, Veldora and Milim. The comedic moments are good and it is all so entertaining. Beretta already had a name and a body. He is using the magisteel golem that Rimuru made in S1 as his material body, and obviously the name is Beretta lol I know they did not show this in the anime so I will explain it here: technically even though Beretta was serving Ramiris directly, he was still contracted to Rimuru. The contract that Rimuru made with Beretta after his summoning was that Beretta will serve and protect Ramiris for 100 years and as payment Beretta gets a name and body to inhabit that he can then do whatever he wants with afterwards. Demons are honor bound by the contract that they make so technically Beretta was still under contract with Rimuru and Rimuru was still his true master until Rimuru transferred authority to Ramiris. That is why Ramiris rejoices that Beretta is now truly her subordinate! It's very cute how much they care for each other.
