Dear friends. It's been a long time since I posted a description of the process of creating art. I am correcting myself, and I will do it more regularly =^_^=

The idea of this art was to come up with his OC for my loved one. He's been talking about it for a long time, and I finally have time for it. Taking into account the wishes for appearance, the first thing I did was not in Photoshop, but in the Blender program and made there such a model of the head:

Then I opened a program that I've been using for years: DesignDoll. In it, I can control the "puppets" - put them in the right position, and also add my own details to the figure. In this screenshot, all the blue parts are what I did in the Blender.

Armed with this screenshot, I drew a sketch of the future drawing:

Then, together with Lynx, we tried different combinations of colors , and came to this color scheme. At the same time, the idea came that he would have a yellow strand of hair, which, at moments when he is super-horny, turns (along with another one of the same) into horns (demonic magic, yes))

By the way, I know that for some reason it seems wrong for some artists (especially beginners) to use references, as if this is some kind of cheating. In fact, on the contrary, it is possible and necessary to use as many references as you deem necessary. This is what my canvas with art looked like in the process of drawing =^_^= (this is what I found in google and in a book about sculpting)

As for the background, this time I decided to do both well, and quickly, and simply. I remembered that Lynx had sent me cute photos of places near his house, and I used one of his photos!

I slightly adjusted the photo and made a blur, as when you take photos with a small depth of field:

Pay attention. Using the usual standard "Gaussian Blur" filter is not good.  When you photograph something with a low depth of field, the bright dots of the blurred background turn into 6-gons (in fact, this "bokeh" can be of any shape, but now we don't need it). To achieve this correct blur effect, use the "Lens Blur" filter:

To take the basis for a good volume, I rendered the figure of a Lynx in a similar lighting:

So, we have a background and a color sketch ready. Then - it's easy (though long): neat linart. I made a lineart based on my sketch and not on a 3D render, so the lineart does not match the render. Because I don't "outline" the render, but on the contrary - I adjust the render to my line.

After that, I also accurately drew the final version of the color, and we got such a nice picture, so far without volume:

My favorite part is volume. As I wrote above, I take the rendering of a simple figure as a basis. And then I just manually brush it up in Photoshop, correct inaccuracies and add details:

This is how the characters on my art get quite an interesting volume, while maintaining their "cartoonishness".

What am I doing with this volume layer? I overlay it on top of a flat color several times in several different modes. Here in this screenshot you can see how it works.

Some details (especially those with piercings and other soulless metal) - I can take them from a 3D render:

At the end, I add color correction, glare in the eyes, everything to make the art look even more bright and cool :3

And a small detail at the end. I rendered a penis with a texture that I really like. But it looks too 3D. Therefore, if I just add this texture to the final result quite a bit, it will turn out great!

Well, I also already told you how a simple painting of a linart can make art much softer and more pleasant (I wrote about it here).

And the result is a very cool art:

I hope it was interesting and informative for you. See you soon! 😘

That looks like a long, long process 😯

Oh, yes! And that's why I can't do a lot of art a month. But on the other hand, I can be proud of each of them :3 And if I have time to learn something in 3D (to stop using DesignDoll, and instead use my own models completely), then I can do it even faster :3

nice work.
