Well honestly I’d rather see funny unnecessary fights like this, rather than long drawn out dramatic ones, sometimes. My heart, how can I let this show go?!?!

Have a whole bunch of language and culture notes for you. First, the yellow "robes" they wear after the hot springs are called yukata. That is what Tane has been calling Yutaka this whole series. I love that they put Yutaka in a yukata. Also the jackets they wear are called chabaori, which translates to tea coat. A cool thing about tea coats and yukata is that the sleeves often function as pockets. You can see Yutaka take his phone out of his and Minoru take the letter from his. At the BBQ, when Dad asks Minoru if he is jealous... In Japanese, one way to say jealous is "grill mochi", so what Dad actually says is, "Now you're done grilling the meat, you're grilling mochi." (Love Tane in this bit looking like he has a clue what is going on. lol) When Minoru sees the phone, the text says, "私も好きだよ！" In Japanese we don't have to use pronouns, so what Ohata-san said was literally, "I like too." Minoru assumes that she meant "I like you," when she really meant, "I like the bento box." (Ohata-san was the lady coworker who has been kind of helping Yutaka all along. )For the hot springs, people usually go in naked,. In fact, outside of mixed baths, you actually are forbidden from wearing clothes, except you can have a small towel that you put on top of your head. Why Yutaka freaks out about the letter with, "Thank you for everything." The Japanese is "今までありがとう。" It means, thank you up until now. Even in English that sounds like the end of the road. My kids at school often say this to me when they graduate, and are not going to see me again. What Tane does not mention, since he fell asleep, is that the letter ends with, "これからも、よろしく。”　This phrase does not really translate, but the image is something like, "Please take care of me from now on." So, if it is just the phrase Tane says, it sounds like, "Thanks, bye." But the two phrases together sound like. "Thanks for all you have done for me so far. I am looking forward to the future with you." When Yutaka chases Minoru outside and they are having two different conversations and Yutaka has no clue what is going on, we hear the sound of a crow. The Japanese crow noise is ka-ka-. The Japanese word for idiot is baka. They sound similar, so often in anime and comedies, when someone does something stupid, you hear the noise of the crow. (You can also hear it in Naked Dining the first time Mahiro catches Souta.) Also, what they translated as, "You have a job and you are popular," is a teeny bit different. What Minoru actually says is, "You can work well." This implies that in the future he will be promoted and get a better salary, making him husband material. The word they translate as popular is "moteru". It is a little different from popular. If you would look at a person and think, "I would date them," or "I would marry them" or "I want to be friends with them," then we would say that person is "moteru," While popular is more how many people are around you.

Just remembered, the Minoru actor is in a 50-min movie called We're Both Grooms. It is on the wedding day of two men, but one of the guys has not told his family that they are getting a son-in-law, not a daughter-in-law. You should watch it if you have the time.

I don't know what it is with this series but it makes me so emotional. Every time I shed a few tears. This little misunderstanding was kinda cute, like you said it's their first relationship so it makes sense. They learn from it and that actually makes them get closer. Tane is then again the cutest bean ever. Also the dad, best wing man
