The inclusion of ZeeNuNew has caused a lot of controversy. Dee Hup who produced Step by Step have released a statement of apology and advised that they are cutting the scene, and Aof has posted ahead of an official statement that they were misled by Dee Hup in relation to how they were going to use Zee and NuNew’s images.

Serves me right for posting early 😂. Wasn’t sure if you had filmed it before the responses came out.

Honestly, I think Thai Bl is starting to care more about quantity over quality! Since 2020, (after 2gether, and kinnPorsche) they’re pushing out so much, because of the popularity and a lot of them In my opinion are just poorly thought out and their just for cash grabs. Back to this show in particular, I agree I really want to love it! The problem is it’s too much. The work and the logistics are overpowering. I don’t mind having lots of characters. I actually like it, it’s just they’re all so unlikeable! It sucks waiting every week for almost nothing! I will stick it out though, because I have hope they can turn it around! Hoping my time isn’t wasted.

title is step by step but I feel like it is step a bit by a bit BTW lovely writer poster after a boss and a babe JoongDunk SIMM? they really love their series.

For once, I totally disagree with you. The series gives me ''slice of life'' vibe and I do enjoy it to the most. Yes, Pat is childish but I think this is why Jeng loves him. Jeng is so pressure to be someone productive he could see a careless self in Pat. Put, for the moment, have nothing to do in the story but to bring useless drama, I don't get it. Now here comes the personnal moment. When Krit propose to Chot during his therapy, that moment makes me cry my heart and soul. It was romantic. It was emotional. I do struggle with cancer, stage IV melanoma, metastasis in lungs. To have your boyfriend saying he loves you to the most while recieving therapy is probably the most real and relatable confession of love. The inclusion of other ship (ZeeNunew, NutPlan from Something In My Room) was bold and I loved it. Yes, the series says that ships are made to sales products, ZeeNew don't like it... Mandee production want excuses... By doing so, they gives right to the accusation. ZeeNew is just a product and the shippers were call out when they wanted apologizes Dee Hup do apologizes but the truth were told anyway. Another thing is Dee Hup, which created NutPlan, critisized itself for their own creation. I am amazed by that but I am also amazed by the fact people do not realized how self-aware the series is.

For me....Pat character is complex way to portray but this new actor is not bad at acting....I think he did a very fine job. This series is not the best one but it's a lots better than many series this year.

I agree. I would not say quantity over quality so much as everybody and their mother is trying to get into the industry. And they are not putting in the work they need beforehand. Another thing I find with Thai \bl is that a lot of the novels lean heavily towards Yaoi, ie, they are high on smut and low on plot. That is fine, but not every story works in every medium. (Lion King animation vs live action pops to mind.) Here in Japan, I don't think I have ever seen Yaoi made into series, and there are lots of reasons for that, but lack of a plot may be one. I also think Thailand may not be the best at figuring out which stories can support a long run. Books like SOTUS and TharnType have enough going onto go for 12 to 16 episodes, but not every story really does. This might also tie into the main audience being Thai Y-book fans. Already being fans they like the stories represented like in the book, even if some parts should be cut. This also ties into production companies not giving backstory because the main audience already knows, making the series difficult to watch as standalones. Finally, one pet peeve is the introduction of new ships. You will have a couple pop up like 7 times and be only peripherally connected to the plot or main characters in an attempt to sell an upcoming show. Either give the couple a cameo in one episode or give them a full storyline. TharnType 7 years of love was the first time I noticed this. As much of a trainwreck as Love Syndrome is, all the characters are connected to our main 4some. I don't mind a lot of couples if they all have decently developed storylines.

Lydia, I agree with you sooo much. Your reacation really made me laugh. I hate Pat's character at all, I just don't find hime very likeable at all, and I don't think Ben is the right actor for this role either. I don't feel any chemistry between Pat and Jeng, even though Man's acting is geat... It's a shame really.

I agree. Storytelling >>> Smut! I love a good romance/steamy scene but not at the expense of good storytelling. Developing a good story and dealing with the runtime and how many episodes is the hard part and must be developed well.
