Backstory of Pete: Pete got obsessed with It two years ago and tried to beat Day when racing. He lost twice (!) but still refused to lose to Day. He wanted to be better than Day and steal It. He tricked It that Day was hurt and that is when he shot them both (they protected each other). Pete was sent out of the country by his dad to never return. Backstory of Ball: He came to the hospital with a fruit basket when Day had the accident (first or second episode?). It met Ball the first time he came to the water fall. Ball was interested (like Peace) but settled for friendship when he saw how in love It and Day was.

All the memories Day gets in each episode is from things that happened in book one. They tell the story of two books in one season 😂

Just remebered... The lines for cheating and what is appropriate differ by culture. Once made a guy laugh too much and his girlfriend sulked the whole evening. The jokes were not even directed at him. We were at a table full of people and everyone laughed. Seems extreme to me, but they get jealous over all sorts of things here in Japan. So sleeping next to someone is no big deal for me and you but I can understand why they freak out here.
