I think he might be adopted or something if his biological parents died and the parents knew his adoptive parents or something. But this show is so cute!

Random... On adoption in Japan. If you are adopted before the age of 7, you are completely removed from your birth parents' record and added to your new parents' record. Probably part of why children above 7 are rarely adopted here. (On the other hand, Japan is the world leader in adult male adoptions. Families with businesses butwithout heirs adopt adult males to pass their business onto.) Seeing as Yutaka looks older than 7 when he was adopted and the parents already had a son, I also feel like there are some special circumstances. Like his parents were the adoptive parents relatives or something. Not Minoru turning his face away to grin about Yutaka being glad to see him. They are soooo cute. Tane said "owakari" instead of "okawari" to ask for another helping of food. It is so cute how he mixes up the syllables. I may never get over him calling Yutaka Yukata. The first flashback was cute, but too long. The second was relevant to show the contrast between the different family experiences, but could have been shorter.
