I was waiting for your reaction to this! I do think all the characters are real, I think the really shallow depth of field was just to depict the dreamlike quality of the time they spend together. I’m not 100% sure though - there’s the shopkeeper giving away free things, and then the hiking boots that were in the trolley…?! There are actually 10 episodes, so we have another 2 weeks of delicious angst to go! 😄

I’ve read somewhere (and I hope so) that it’s a bad dream or the representation of Jaewon’s fear of losing JiHyun as his brother being JiHyun a good with him and someone who makes him happy

I agree it really does seem like a dream. But is the whole episode a dream or just the end since before that they where in bed?🤔 I really hate bad endings but since I am so into the show already whatever the end may be I'm gonna be watching😬❤️Thank you for the reaction!

I only think the end is a dream.. I think it's Jaewon's fear of losing another person he cares about.. I think the episode was shot like that because they're kinda in a daze getting to know each other, them being in their own bubble.. I love when Jihyun said to Jaewon that he had changed to, because he didn't feel like he put up a front anymore.. Jihyun is breaking down Jaewons walls, and he's doing it in a soft and thoughtful way..

This is why I say it's excruciatingly painful to wait for the episodes😭😭😭 I don't care if it's a dream or not just give me the next damn episodes🤣🤣🤣🤣 It feels even more unfair knowing the whole show is out in korea😭😭 cause I just wanna watch it all like right now!

I think the ethereal portions shows that JaeWon is mixing his meds with alcohol. The dreamlike focus for the first half of the series, slowly dissipates. It does make JaeWon an unreliable narrator, but it's not a dream. I feel like JiHyun does indeed almost drown, but does not die. Two bodies around JaeWon is just too much. JaeWon saves him, but this will trigger him to back away from JiHyun. He will fall back in line with all the 'traditions' that are expected of him. JaeWon who has been yearning to stick his head out for self-freedom, to be fully himself, but got figuratively promptly punched in the face. He will conform again and put all masks back in place. I think this will setup the 'drama' of trying to get our couple back together for the back half of the season.

I think he was having a what is called a Vivid Dream. Yes, most occur when asleep but not always. He was able to open up and have JiHyun there beside him and love him, make him feel true freedom for a moment. He is hurting so much over the loss of his brother. JMO. Also, kudos to the writers for allowing this episode to keep the intensely beautiful flow going by NOT having his stalker ex-girlfriend either spying on them or breaking the scene by showing up and needing to "talk". Thank-you!!
