Immersion vs Quality (?)
- Version 1 (of course) 108
- Version 2 (sure thing) 49
- Version 3 (definitely) 31
I still have the question: Do you want more immersion again or a lookalike with a high-quality texture that still looks relatively realistic at close range, but as a result many facial features of the original photo are lost?
These typical features of the face often cannot really be reconstructed in their entirety manually, as the Genesis 2 models cannot generate the best shaders and therefore not the best depth of detail.
So I have created a simple overview of the 3 processing stages.
Version 1: Here I use the almost unchanged "original" version of the scan template: . Here I clean up all the impurities and remove most of the eyelashes, sharpen the skin texture a little and add the shadows to the nostrils. Very strong shine is removed from the lips. Specular and normal maps are produced from this template and certain shiny areas of the face and other special features are worked out here.
Version 2: All work from version 1, including further reduction of shadows and highlights from the face (which are later compensated for using the specular and normal maps). Color spots and other color defects in the skin are corrected and some skin blemishes are retouched.
Version 3: All the work from versions 1 and 2, but with the shadows and highlights on the face completely removed. In principle, this version is retouched in a similar way to an "Instagram" motif. The face is flatter, less profiled, but purer and more striking.
Which version would you prefer if you could only have one of these versions?
(so no multiple selection possible!) But of course I would offer at least 2 versions in the future (if reasonable) with the final release.
