I still have the question: Do you want more immersion again or a lookalike with a high-quality texture that still looks relatively realistic at close range, but as a result many facial features of the original photo are lost?

These typical features of the face often cannot really be reconstructed in their entirety manually, as the Genesis 2 models cannot generate the best shaders and therefore not the best depth of detail.

So I have created a simple overview of the 3 processing stages.

Version 1: Here I use the almost unchanged "original" version of the scan template: . Here I clean up all the impurities and remove most of the eyelashes, sharpen the skin texture a little and add the shadows to the nostrils. Very strong shine is removed from the lips. Specular and normal maps are produced from this template and certain shiny areas of the face and other special features are worked out here.

Version 2: All work from version 1, including further reduction of shadows and highlights from the face (which are later compensated for using the specular and normal maps). Color spots and other color defects in the skin are corrected and some skin blemishes are retouched.

Version 3: All the work from versions 1 and 2, but with the shadows and highlights on the face completely removed. In principle, this version is retouched in a similar way to an "Instagram" motif. The face is flatter, less profiled, but purer and more striking.

Which version would you prefer if you could only have one of these versions?

(so no multiple selection possible!) But of course I would offer at least 2 versions in the future (if reasonable) with the final release.

Version 7 where she's drawn in crayon and stapled to an inflated sex doll!

As accurate to real life as possible. Always. I mean... that's the point of a lookalike model.

Hard to say, I would recommend releasing several models with multiple stages, and weigh the feedback with the larger sample size. By the single image provided for three stages, we could all sit here and cherry pick the better features. But these same features will vary per model.

All 3 pics looks the same to me. i think you need some realistic level of quality to achieve imersion. If it's a likeness of a real person than the quality has to be very accurate to feel that its really her. Otherwise you'll keep focusing on the things that make it not look like the person you're expecting to see. If it's not a likeness, it should just be believable as a real person. So again, nothing should keep reminding you that it's not a real person too much. For me, I think the skin texture is the most important thing. It should be very polished or you'll get brought back to reality and think this and that looks off, or think, oh there's something off with the texture here. It doesnt have to be perfect. As long as there aren't many very big distractions it can be very enjoyable to play with her, especially in VR and feel like she's really there.

If you were to release x2 versions I would offer 1 & 3, thus covering the higher range of diversity.

By removal of blemishes in 2, do you mean actual skin blemishes or issues from importing? Honestly, for me closest to original real life model is best with your work (as it's what I think you do better than anyone). Regarding removal of shadows (I should probably watch your livestreams), isn't that a good thing since the lighting in every scene will be different and should cast it's own shadows?

Full-on realism wins. When I look, I get stunned! that I am with, An. Jolie! Not every model I've looked at does that for me. She is a great example of immersion and realism and without those, I pass. Its just a !SHOCK! to "believe" they are there with me. Big thanks to vecterror.
