This was a blast to setup in VR, and reminded me of the old days when a camera shot was well lit, but the scene itself was not. And that's no fault of Tessai's. He had no intention of bringing this into VR when he made it, and that's not his job. Why would you light a scene that no one is going to see? That said, being able to take someone else's idea and make it shine in VR is something I am quite passionate about, and this was no exception.

For those of you who are more critical like me, just ignore the weapon box's texture being pulled. An unfortunate mistake on my part, but I learned from it. I've never had that happen before with subdivision, but it won't happen again.

This was the first non-VR video where I used the new interpolation method I mentioned in our last release, and although it takes 10 times longer the interpolation is smoother, more accurate, and there's no change in color. Yes, that's more time spent in post, but it leaves everyone with a better product overall. I also tested this on VR shots, and I'll be switching those as well. Having interpolation take EVEN longer on VR scenes is a much bigger deal, but a smoother animation overall means for a better artistic product, which will always be my main goal.
