"Gentiana broke up with you months ago. Her roommates insist that you're bad news. She should steer clear of you, they advise. Unwelcome in the house. Well, the secret backdoor key that Gentiana mailed you yesterday indicates that she's not quite over you. Pay her a visit?"

I was pretty overwhelmed by some of the lighting choices I had to make on this, as I wanted to accent Gentiana's very curvy, hourglass figure without taking away from the rest of the scene, as well as giving her eyes a nice light reflection. The light placement was meant to illuminate her as well as give her better eye shine, but what I didn't account for was the light actually making it hard to tell where she is looking! Rest assured, she is looking dead center into your eyes throughout, but the light makes it look otherwise. Another classic case of a scene where I should have faked the result to make it look better than having it be realistic and not look as good!

Back to the point, in focusing on the eyes and skin I missed a detail during test rendering that I couldn't figure out how to fix before release... the damn fur on the carpet edge. For some reason, this fur would not render on both eyes in VR. By the time I noticed this, I already had the final render completed. Hopefully this is an easily missed detail for most of you on a scene that is otherwise pretty great, and won't detract from your immersion.

Enjoy!

Aww man if only that was the legs up animation of her. But I guess we had the Nier one in that position just recently. Life can be cruel sometimes. Also I must say I generally like orange lighting like in the Aranea one better than blueish tint. The latter makes things look kinda metallic and artificial I find.

Okay after trying it out and some fiddling around it might also be the video itself that makes things look metallic since all I did was crank up the contrast and saturation a bit and it looked much better in my opinion. You could actually see her skin colour instead of it being grey and the higher contrast made it so that her eyes aren't as glassy and everything is more defined. The background is quite dark that way but I guess that's not really what we're looking at here. E: If anyone uses DeoVR I suggest trying contrast and saturation at +5 or +10 each. I personally think it looks much better that way.
