"Launching Resident Evil in the futuristic Ultra VR gaming console was sure to be a hit. Especially since players could "go into" the bodies of Leon and Claire and feel everything as if it were their own body. What wasn't predicated was that players would spend more time banging each other than banging up T-virus mutants."
Animation by the Dark Dreams team, including Laarel on sound.
Hey, Dreamers! I apologize for posting this late. I meant to have this up yesterday and got so wrapped up in work that I forgot. Yesterday was the first full work day I was able to make it through in a week, and I was so excited to actually work that it slipped my mind. Referencing my health, my back is still "jacked up" but I am able to work at least; I know some stretches now that will allow me to make it through a work day, so that's great news. I was even able to walk around outside for a little bit. That sounds like such a silly thing to say or even think, but that only speaks to the gravity of the situation. Make sure you take care of yourself, people.
Some of our supporters pointed out mistakes and flaws in this video, and I want to comment on that. Not only was this video created with 2 POV shots in mind, it was put together about a month ago when myself and the team started on a new workflow that, ultimately, should allow us to put out even more content on a weekly basis (setting a goal of 3 SFM and 2 Blender). This is still very much a WIP, but as you can see it has taken its toll on quality in some ways. I apologize for the mistakes you might spot. I've always believed VR's greatest strengths are shown when you can avoid breaking immersion. I want to apologize if that's happened for you. This is not the normal level of quality we set here at the studio. I think we were just in a stressful situation at the time, and we're feeling rushed because of it. Rest assured, our quality won't dip or dive for too long. We take immense pride in maintaining the highest quality level possible, while also improving our own skillsets to raise the bar we've set. As to the new workflow, it's been slowed down greatly due to my back, but we have been able to maintain the current production level. We're going to try again in January. So, fingers crossed on us giving you even more weekly content. I don't want to make a promise that it will happen in case it's not possible, but here's to hoping.
Enjoy!
