It's been quite a while since I posted anything besides animations, so here is a quick look at some upcoming videos! Dark Dreams is chugging right along. Each of these animations are not only WIP's, but represent something new or exciting I was able to try with each one.

Skarlet with some aliens is my first time working with Beastly Joe, and certainly not my last. It's great to be throwing my hat in the ring with someone I have been a fan of for so long. It's also the first time I have tried filming a shot from inside another model. This actually takes place from the point of view of the alien's smaller head in it's mouth, so you'll notice the alien's jaws around you in VR.

Blueberg's Anna animation is a new breakthrough, albeit a situational one. In most animations, the partner model might get close and clip into the camera. Through some trickery I figured out a way to work around this, allowing the model to still get fairly close. It won't work every time, but it does up the amount of animations I'll be able to do by a bit.

Lara getting spitroasted is by a new artist for Dark Dreams, DomSFM. I decided to work on making this a "universal" animation, in that you can flip the animation 180 degrees and be in either position! I wasn't sure how well this would work out, but it seems to be pretty cool. Again, if you don't have a program that can do this, I recommend Whirligig. It's still my favorite VR viewer, as it has the best looping and most features for customization that I have found.

Having Tharjax grace our presence, courtesy of Jujala, was more about just being able to work with Jujala again. Tharjax being their model of choice was just a added perk!

Generally when I take an animation from the 2d world and bring into 3d VR, I redo the lighting from scratch. I decided to take an alternate route and build onto the existing lighting in hopes of maintaining as much of the original animator's vision. This is certainly the case with SFMFuntime's Liara titty fuck. I softened the lighting up a bit, as well as increasing contrast throughout and added a bit more ambient lighting from the overhead.

Calamity giving you a handjob with Shadow Ops in the back was just seeing how quickly I could combine two animations by the same artist, Kaeg. It was a quick work, but I wasn't happy with the scene and lighting, so I redid that as well. It was such a complex change that I sent the new changes back to the animator so they could re-publish with the new sound that would be added.

Blueberg had a Triss blowjob animation floating around, and it included Regis having her give him a blowjob via magical powers. It wasn't something I had seen in VR yet, so decided to give it a go.

Nodetek is one of my favorite artists to work with, and I didn't need to do much with this animation. All I did was soften up the lighting a bit, add some more contrast, and added more lighting outside to give it a more realistic early morning foggy feel. SFM's volumetric lighting isn't the best, so I also had to use a bit of trickery to make it work in VR.

Ah, Maiden Masher. I love their work so much. Every animation is a pleasure. There isn't nearly enough of Rachel's bubble butt, so I was glad to work on this with MM. The original map for the Hayabusa Dojo doesn't have the best lighting, so I removed it from the map and did my own.

Lastly, we have a remaster of Empathetic One's Wallaby. It had been a long time since I originally did this one, so I made a lot of changes with my new knowledge. I added some movement to the sky/chopper so it would actually feel like you're flying, I redid the lighting, changed the volumetric lighting, fixed the model's distortions and bad flexes, as well as extending the animation and added variation to increase the length overall. Of course, this animation will also have added color correction and grading once the new sound is added to it.

Beyond the WIP's, update wise things are steady at Dark Dreams. Support is always slow over the summer, so we're not any closer to me giving up my day job and taking this on full time. I had hoped by summer's end that, at the very least, we would have a new computer and be able to begin Blender animations, but the financial support just isn't there yet. I do have artists lined up and ready to go, but it's going to be some time before I can actually begin Blender work.

Said artists? Kaeg is throwing their hat in the ring, and as Dark Dreams' lead animation artist, this is going to be awesome. We also have Spizder moving on to Blender and already supplying their skills to us. KDE has been dabbling with Blender but still thinking about making the switch. Firebrand is another artist who is spending time in Blender. All in all, we have a pretty decent amount of artists between SFM and Blender. It's just a matter of getting a decent computer purely for Blender rendering as I refuse to release Blender animations that are going to be 1 second loops that repeat, especially if I am going to spend the time and energy learning Blender to do so.

Our studio release is still in the works. For once, the studio release isn't delayed due to my lack of time! We just keep adding cool new things we want to try.

That's about it for now. Thank you all for your continued support!

Hey buddy, any chance of adding mavis dracula to the next poll?

DarkDreamsVR

Hey! The choice of models we use after this current studio release are going to be a lot stricter. Almost to the point to where myself and the team are going to look at the current list and throw out anything that will be "below our standard". One of my goals for Dark Dreams is to bring forward content/characters that haven't been done yet. At the same time, we need to ensure that the models you choose from aren't going to be so painful that we lose passion in the project. tl;dr We'll take a look at the model(s) and see!

Hi, where can I find the "Direct access to all animations through MEGA"?

DarkDreamsVR

I just posted a link with the new key today. You can always search for tags and look for MEGA as well. The most recent tagged post will always have working access.

Hans

I always enjoy these updates. It’s fun to see you geek out a bit over how you are going about each project. Thanks as always for the insight into how you all are doing!
