This Week's WIP and Previews (Patreon)
Content
This week we have a new animation from the studio, as well as another Halloween animation on the way!
First up is a studio release, a VRAR that was requested on our Discord. Commander Shepard taking charge!
I'll be honest, this was a pain in the ass to get right. Taking over 10 days to render, some glitching on the armor, and it's still not perfect. But at this point, I just can't be bothered to render for a third time. But it's done. Just waiting on sound and voice. Abysmal did a phenomenal job on this. I just wish the models hadn't been so difficult to work with! But that's just part of doing VRAR's. You take what you're given and you make them work!
Our other WIP is by Domino the Cat, the Halloween release I mentioned. Ravage from Fortnite.
This is a bit shorter than what we usually do in terms of looping, but as soon as I saw it I knew I had to convert it for the season.
On to our releases for this week!
First up, we have part 3 of our Premium release. No Gif unfortunately, although I can share a screenshot this time.
As much as I loved this premium release as a whole, I think this is my favorite scene of the 4. It's a close call on 3 and 4. The lighting was purposefully dark in parts 1 and 2 due to the time it starts at (night time arrival at the cabin) as well as the darkness of the cabin itself. On part 3 and 4 I was really able to lighten the scene up due to time having passed and the window and lantern placement in the scene compared to the location on the bed. But the final part is also pretty amazing, so I'm kinda torn. I get a little frustrated with myself and my hook of wanting scenes to be realistically lit for VR. Sometimes I think our scenes are still way too dark.
Our other release this week is part 3 of Lazy Procrastinator's Beach Party scene, and Yuffie is finally getting what she wants.
Much like the Shepard WIP, this was a massive pain for so MANY reasons. Getting the ocean to loop and remain immersive, different layers of rendering, Aerith's hat not rendering correctly (thanks to LP showing me how to fix it!), Aerith's distance to the camera and reposing, getting the lighting to match LP's... the list goes on. But it turned out pretty fantastic. I'm very pleased with this one.
That's it for this week. I'll be back next week with some more WIP and previews. Until then...
Enjoy!
