I'm sorry for the extremely long wait on this! Personal life and health issues got in the way again, and yadda yadda, you know...
A couple months back I did a poll for what book/short story people would like me to read as a kind of pseudo-audiobook, asmr-ish recording, and the majority voted for "The Hobbit". I've never read The Hobbit (until now) and I'm pretty new to the entire idea of recording audiobook-type content seeing as I grew up with a learning disorder and reading aloud at length like this has been challenging for me in general.

It took many recording sessions just to record about 50 minutes or so of actually usable audio for this, and I never even managed to finish the first chapter (although I think I was just a few pages away...;_;) but in the interest of finally releasing this for everybody who has been waiting so patiently, I just decided to go ahead and edit what I had done at the very least. I'll try to have part 2 edited and put up here in the next couple days, I just needed a break from hours of audio editing!

Aside from my weakness with reading stuff aloud, I had to re-record and pause recording a ton of times to account for background noise from cars going by and neighbors being noisy which made it even more daunting than it should have been. You would not believe how much of me making really exasperated sighs that I had to cut out of the full audio, hahah.

Despite how frazzled I was most of the time though, I think I got some good practice out of it! I tried to use a bit of a lower/soothing type of voice and sound like a mom since I guess that seems fitting.
I attached a version of the audio without any added background sounds (I layered in some rain and nature sounds on the main version mainly to cover up unwanted background noise that I couldn't edit out....) So if you prefer that version and don't mind hearing my gross mouth noises every now and then, enjoy!

If I do this again anytime soon, I think I might choose an actual short story or something more....surmountable!!! Let me know what you think about that or if you enjoyed this at all! It's hard for me to tell if this was even good or not since I'm so averse to the sound of my own voice hahaha, but I tried my best with what I was working with.

Thank you again for waiting and I hope this is at least relaxing to listen to.
