Moog One vs MiniMoog // First Look (Patreon)
Content
Dan Stirling, a producer based in Manchester UK, lent me his Moog One for a week. Its a beautifully crafted synth with a whole host of features but its been given a hard time by some users (or non users) on various forums.
Its super expensive at £9.5k for the 16 voice - but then it has 48 oscillators, 32 filters and eventide effects.
A read a fair few comments about it not having enough weight at the bottom end. A look at a frequency analysis says different - although its not the same as the Minimoog. The filter acts in a different way and the VCOs don't appear to overdrive the filters like the Mini - but there's no way I'd say its no good for bass.
... anyway... have a listen for yourselves.
Im putting together a short demo vs the PolyBrute tomorrow as they're both very flexible VCO based synths with 2 filters, effects a huge range and massive sounds. Nothing too tech as its to deep and the things got to go back in the evening!
