I'm now thinking that's where the name originates.  Although it's not a modern versions of the P5. Its got more functions etc, and doesn't sound the same.

This is looking at the sonic characteristics rather than functions etc. As I say in the video there are spec sheets for that.

Yesterday I made a 3 comparisons with the P5, P6 and the P600.  So by the end of that I think no-one will be in any doubt about what it can do. Although I've not edited the others yet ... they may be sh*t so may never see the light of day haha,

Take 5 might be right for you, to freshen up digital sound palette, although there are digital synths that really have “analogue” soul in a way. One thing you are going to randomly face is bugs - its normal when you have companies like DSI/Sequential or Moog that focus on analogue components and are still developing their digital control over analogue circuitries. Moog one is full of bugs, being the most expensive synth around. I had to return my Rev2 and get a new one. Don’t even get me started on Matrixbrute and Arturia. But thats normal. For Sequential, merger with Focusrite is an opportunity to invest in bug free hardware development and digital control research. I am very happy with my Pro 3, I also have Pro 2 that is totally different beast, and together with Subsequent 37 these 3 are my go-to mono synths. Maybe you can try Matrixbrute, it provided me with lots of fun time (although it can be buggy) if you like Arturia’s oscillators and instruments immediacy.

I’ve got a PolyBrute here - not sure how well that matches the Matrixbute but it’s amazingly flexible.

I saw your video on PB. I was also curious about that, how those two compare on the levels they are crossing with. Obviously oscillators and filters are more less the same (actually I am pretty sure same brute oscillators are used in Minibrute 2S, MatrixBrute and PolyBrute. Matrixbrute's morphing function is not the first ever but it is so immediate and makes the instrument super intuitive. To be honest, I would like to get PolyBrute but I am not 100% sure what I would get that I don't already have in my arsenal. I am more and more interested in UDO6 (I really want to see just how much it diverges from Jupiter 6). Also, I am always a bit cautious when a relatively "young" hardware company like Arturia produces its first poly synth. There is a lots of knowledge and RND in competitors like Sequential, but it seems they passed the test.
