and finally...

the DCO 106 which is a 106 emulation (obvs!).  This one was a bit of a disappointment tbh. I thought it would be much easier to get spot on, but there must be stuff it does that isn't quite so simple.  Its not bad... its OK.. its good for the price.  BUT.. its so much less bright than the hardware and the chorus doesn't quite hit the mark

$25 though... so not complaining. it still gets the flavour.

Cherry Audio DCO 106 vs Juno 106

#cherryaudio #DCO106 #Juno106 #review A look at Cherry Audio's DCO106 compare to a vintage Juno 106. A demo and review. Does it sound like a generic synth engine.. or does it have that classic Roland synth character. Love the content! I have a question Starsky, given you are 106 aficionado. I have the Cherry DCO 106 (it's okay) and the Arturia Jun 6V. Do I need the Model 84? I know it's better than Cherry but does it outpunch Arturia’s emu? I love it and it's half price at the mo but do I need it? Any advice would be massive. Cheers. R

Thanks Graham, always nice to hear. I’ve got the Arturia and the Softube. I think the Softube is the better more exacting emulation. The Arturia is very good and has extras but for simple 1:1 sound the Softube nails it (as does the Roland Cliud).

That’s what I was hoping you’d say. Love my experience so far in trial with it. My new year resolution to not buy any more soft synths lasted a month. 😂 Cheers mate.
