Playing round with an old track and putting the MV-1 through it's paces.  Its not really designed with this in mind - but it can be done with a bit of planning, and works pretty well.

Much quicker in the DAW though! but if you want to do it all in a little box - this is the only one that can.

Channeling you inner QUEEN: Creating Huge Harmonies on the Roland Verselab MV-1

#roland #verselab #mv1 #mv-1 #demo Getting the most out of the vocal channel by stacking multiple harmonies and bouncing tracks internally. This way you can create huge sounding harmonies and still have tonnes of sample memory left for instruments, ad-libs and whatever else you need. Sounds excellent! I have to say though I really don’t understand the concept of these stand alone production machines. Basically it’s a DAW with buttons instead of a computer screen and mouse is it not? Or am I missing something? I must admit I’ve never used one. Is it perhaps that pressing buttons and turning dials is more inspiring for some people? I do get that because am a big fan of Eurorack, but I still use it in a hybrid setup with a DAW.

I think it’s the portability and maybe simply because it’s a ‘thing’ and not the laptop you use everyday. I think it’s aimed at a younger market for trap, hip hop and pop. So if you want a little studio it’s an all in one solution you can build around … or just take to your mates. I got hold of one to have a go - like you I’ve never used one or considered it something useful considering the kit I’ve already got. Lots of folks with studios love the akais so I’m glad I gave it a go. … and I’m in the habit of making the vids so it gives a focus when you’re working in something to get your thoughts in order and prepare something a bit better than simply mucking about.
