It's been sitting in my hallway for 2 weeks - and I've just not had a chance to get it open until now.

Always a bit stressful doing an unboxing and first impressions video - as there's a distinct chance I start talking rubbish, and miss half the functions.

I think I've got most in this.  I've a couple more bits to record - I missed the detuning for example - holding unison and pressing the patch select keys can make it sound like its been dropped down a flight of stairs - which is nice ;/

Prophet 5 Rev 4 Unboxing and First Look

First draft of my first look of the 2nd most expensive synth I've ever bought... (Minimoog was more!)

Haha... just watched it. It’s the type of thing I tried many times, but doesn’t quite hit the mark. It’s an OK effect, but the slop on the P6 is so much better than what he’s doing - no idea why he doesn’t just use that! The slop and vintage are different things btw. Slop is a sort of random detune whereas vintage emulates the inconsistencies of the older revisions (supposedly anyway!)

Slop/Drift and Vintage knob on Prophet 5/10 are two completely different things. While Slop/Drift basically creates certain beating between otherwise two super tight oscillators, Vintage function on P5/10 is basically a set of different offsets, changes to the current, particles and irregularities across the entire signal path, from vco to the filter and envelopes. So It is much more than just a drift/slop. Actually, you have something similar on Super 6, after the firmware update - with shift you can Drift the DDS, but also filter and LFO! This is how powerful those FPGA oscillators are, you can program so many crazy things in them.
